Prospecting for WA's minerals continues to be a vital part of our future.  Today most APLA members are part-time prospectors or hobbiests.  APLA's professional prospectors and leaseholders recognise that a range of memberships is importance to both APLA's and WA's future.  Professionals understand the pressures placed on all aspects of the development of our mineral resources often by  the uninformed,  who naively believe that harvesting minerals should stop, and  others who have different  and sometimes hidden agendas.  A well supported unified voice is necessary.

APLA membership helps to maintain a strong voice in political matters and representation in interest group forums.  Also, membership offers  opportunities to  meet and exchange experience  and learn 'the skills of prospecting'.  Click on the box below to view and download an application form.  Annual ( 1 July to 30 June)  membership ranges from $40 to $100.  Current dues are: pensioner $40, pensioner couple $60, individual $60 and family couple with up to 2 children $100.

APLA no longer awards 18 month membership to new applicants joining after 1 Jan.  APLA is considering revising its membership year to be from 1 Jan to 31 Dec.  New applicants are advised to consider this if a n application is made after 1 Jan 2012.
   
MEMBERSHIP IS INVITED

APLA membership fees are due by 30 June each year.   Payment before this date will attracts 2 entries in the annual membership draw.  Pensioner Couple and Family memberships will receive 4 entries. Payment after 30 June will get one entry in the membership draw for Single membership; Pensioner  Couple and Family membership two entries.   First prize has been the latest Minelab detector!!

Application for new memberships may take as long as several months.  If you are planning a prospecting trip requiring APLA membership factor this time into your planning.  Membership renewals may also take as long as 6 weeks, existing members appreciate that the membership officer may also be away prospecting, and renewing more than 1000 memberships takes time!!
