  Annually APLA holds an "AGM/STATE CONFERENCE" that meets a number of objectives:

-   TO CONFIRM THE EXECUTIVE ROLES AND POSITIONS FOR THE FOLLOWING YEAR;
-   TO ENABLE THE EXECUTIVE TO BRIEF MEMBERS OF THE EVENTS OF THE PAST YEAR;
 -   TO ENABLE MEMBERS TO PARTICIPATE AND PLAN INITIATIVES FOR THE NEXT YEAR;
 -   TO RENDEZVOUS MEMBERS FROM THE BRANCHES AND PROSPECTORS NATIONALLY;
 -   TO PROMOTE PROSPECTING SKILLS AND THE OPEN EXCHANGE OF INFORMATION AND IDEAS;AND
 -   ARRANGE ACCESS TO GROUND FOR THE OPPORTUNITY OF PROSPECTING.

Last year the conference was hosted by the EGPA and held during the last w/e in Aug. at Ora Banda. The EGPA arranged an  outstanding  "SOCIAL EVENING" including a dinner and an extremely attractive raffle with prizes in abundance collected by Glyn and touted by his attractive assistants!!

The AGM as concluded in good time.  The president reported the conduct of the year and the Treasurer and Branch Chairmen reported relevant matters.

The STATE CONFERENCE proceedings reviewed matters progressed during the year and raised, discussed and     resolved a number of issues minuted for the members.

The 'PROSPECTOR OF THE YEAR' was awarded to Mr. BRUCE CANDY of  MINLAB for his world class contribution to the advancement of metal detecting technology.  'WITH EVERY SWING WE SHAKE HIS HAND'.

APLA also awarded a 'CERTIFICATE OF APPRECIATION' to Mr. ROY BURTON.  He has served at DMP for 40 years and has been responsible for developing and fostering  DMP-PROSPECTING understandings.
